Audio Issues
The first seven minutes of today’s Davis County Commission meeting were not recorded due to an audio malfunction or error. The issue was identified and resolved, allowing the meeting to proceed with sound.

Agenda Highlights

The following key items were approved and discussed during today’s commission meeting:

Animal Care

  1. Approval of a Standard Service Provider Contract with Dr. Ali Weaver to provide veterinary services for Davis County Animal Care. (not on recording)
  2. Approval of adoption agreements for September 2024, facilitating placements of animals with local families. (not on recording)
  3. Approval of a summary report of donations received in September 2024, acknowledging community contributions.(not on recording)

Attorney’s Office
4. Approval of an interlocal agreement with Layton City for the distribution of funds from the 2024 Byrne Memorial Joint Justice Assistance Grant (JAG), aimed at enhancing local justice programs. (not on recording)

Auditor’s Office
5. Public Hearing and subsequent approval of a resolution for additional budget appropriations, addressing funding needs for the final quarter of 2024. 6. Filing of the Davis County Auditor’s 2025 Tentative Budget, marking the beginning of the next fiscal planning cycle. 7. Statement of Work with Milliman, Inc., authorizing them to provide actuarial data on post-retirement obligations for 2024 and 2025. 8. Approval of an amendment to increase the service rate for contractor Jim Ivie, addressing workload demands.

Health and Community Services
9. Approval of a grant application for the Davis County Health Department’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, securing vital funds for health services. 10. Notice of intent to engage in contract negotiations for the Davis County Correctional Facility’s design/build services, an important step toward facility development.

Commissioners’ and Clerk’s Office
11-12. Approvals were granted to cancel several Commission meetings in late December due to the holiday season. 13. Approval and acceptance of a donation from the Sego Lily Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, including a commemorative plaque to be displayed in the Memorial Courthouse.

Economic Development
14-17. Contracts approved with various community organizations for events, including soccer training and boutique shows, fostering community engagement and economic activity. 18-23. Execution of property exchange agreements and quitclaim deeds related to the partial street vacation of Ewe Turn Road, supporting infrastructure improvements.

Additional Approvals
The Commission also approved agreements for services at county golf courses, a contract amendment with CureMD for health services, a Memorandum of Understanding with the FBI for the Wasatch Metro Drug Task Force, and a series of training agreements for corrections officers.

Board of Equalization and Consent Items
The Property Tax Register for October 29, 2024, was approved, alongside minutes from previous meetings.

The Davis County Commission continues to address varied community needs, from public safety enhancements and health funding to local business support and infrastructure development.
