Davis County Commission Approves Key Agreements in Latest Meeting
Farmington, UT – The Davis County Commission held its regular meeting on February 11, 2025, approving a series of agreements and policy updates affecting county operations, public services, and community initiatives.
The meeting, which was livestreamed on YouTube, covered a range of topics, including a temporary change to the Commission’s regularly scheduled meetings starting in April, updates to the Davis County Tourism Tax Advisory Board (TTAB) bylaws, and multiple contracts for public transportation, health services, and infrastructure projects.
Key Approvals & Highlights:
- Public Transit Support: The Commission approved agreements with Snowbasin Resort Company and Layton City to continue UTA Skibus services for the 2024-2025 winter season.
- Tourism & Economic Development: Amendments to the Davis County Tourism Tax Advisory Board bylaws were approved to enhance tourism oversight.
- Infrastructure Improvements: The Commission approved a $74,311.50 contract for new roofing on the Davis Park Club House.
- Public Health Initiatives: The Utah Department of Health & Human Services allocated additional funding for HIV programs and aging services, increasing the county’s budget for these programs.
- Law Enforcement & Security Enhancements: The Davis County Sheriff’s Office received approval for a training agreement for new corrections officers and a $52,229.04 contract for an updated law enforcement policy manual and training system.
- Library Funding Boost: The county secured $31,520.00 in grant funds from the Utah State Library to enhance community library programs.
Additionally, the Commission ratified a contract with AirDNA to track short-term rental data in Davis County and approved a network security assessment contract with CompuNet to enhance county cybersecurity.
