July 30, 2024 – The Davis County Commission held its latest meeting, highlighting the retirement of Information Systems Director Mark Langston after over 32 years of dedicated service. Langston’s contributions were celebrated as the commission acknowledged his pivotal role in advancing the county’s technological infrastructure (Item 666/2024).
Public Comments: Len Eggett from Fruit Heights provided comments about potential fraud throughout the United States from properties being confiscated by banks. He provided feedback and suggestions to the Commission to protect Davis County property owners.
Animal Care:
- An intent to increase property taxes to Fund 13, Animal Care of Davis County, by $1,507,804.00, representing a 59.91% increase to support the annual care of 4,500 animals, was announced (Item 654/2024).
- The commission approved adoption agreements for June 2024 to streamline animal adoption processes (Item 660/2024).
- The “Empty the Shelters” Grant Acceptance Agreement was also approved, promoting animal adoptions through grant support (Item 620/2024).
Attorney’s Office:
- Approval of a Linkage Agreement for a Mental Health Professional Referral Program between Davis Behavioral Health and the Davis County Children’s Justice Center (Item 657/2024).

Facilities:
- An agreement with Armitek LLC for the installation of a ballistic glass system for the IS suite in the Admin building was approved (Item 655/2024).

Board of Equalization:
