🏛️Davis County Commission Meeting Summary – May 6, 2025

Employee Recognition Highlights:
Commissioners honored numerous Davis County employees for reaching career milestones, from 5 to 30 years of service. Moving tributes were given to individuals from the Health Department, Sheriff’s Office, Attorney’s Office, Library, Information Systems, Facilities, and the Western Sports Park. Brandon Hunt was notably recognized for 30 years in Public Works and his leadership in noxious weed control using environmentally safe methods. John Olsen and David Hansen were also highlighted for 30 and 25 years of dedicated service, respectively.

Public Comment:
A resident raised concerns about the Chase Allen case, claiming new video evidence and insufficient records response from the County Attorney’s office. He submitted a formal records request and warned of potential legal action if the case isn’t re-opened.

Key Actions and Approvals:

  • Ordinance Update: Changed outdated terms to reflect ADA-compliant language for service animals.
  • Library Board: Jessica Groves was appointed to a four-year term.
  • Clearfield Projects: Two transportation-related interlocal agreements were approved to support sidewalk and road infrastructure totaling over $300,000.
  • Facilities: A large landscape upgrade at the Davis Conference Center was approved; a separate project at the Health Department’s fleet parking was tabled.
