Davis County Recognizes Employee Milestones and Generous Donations in August 2024

Davis County proudly honored its dedicated employees during the August 2024 Employee Service Awards. The awards recognized individuals who have reached significant career milestones, celebrating their years of service and commitment to the county. These employees have shown unwavering dedication, contributing to the effective functioning of county services across various departments. Generous Donation to Animal Care
In other news, Davis County Animal Care received a generous $215,000 donation from Raymond James in honor of Patrick Davis. The funds will be instrumental in enhancing animal care services, ensuring the well-being of animals within the community. The county expressed deep gratitude for the donation, acknowledging its positive impact on the lives of countless animals.
Key Approvals and Agreements
The Davis County Commission also approved several important contracts and agreements during their recent meeting:
- The State of Utah Contract Amendment #3 was approved, securing funding for the 2025 fiscal year.
- The Davis County Children’s Justice Center (CJC) received approval for the Violence of Crime Act (VOCA) Certified Assurances and Grant Conditions, ensuring continued support for victims of crime.
- A Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) contract was approved with the Davis Health Department for the remodeling of the Senior Center bathrooms, enhancing facilities for the elderly community.
Investments in Health and Security
The county also made significant investments in health and security:
- A subscription agreement with ‘Aunt Bertha dba findhelp’ was approved, expanding access to essential health services for residents.
- The Sheriff’s Office secured a training agreement for Chase Allen Sperry, who will pursue certification as a Special Function Officer (SFO) and Basic Corrections Officer (BCO).
- Cabela’s donated ammunition valued at approximately $957.00 to the Sheriff’s Office, supporting their ongoing training efforts.
Additionally, the county ratified an agreement with Wellpath LLC for healthcare services at the Davis County Correctional Facility, ensuring the continued provision of medical care to inmates.
Board of Equalization and Meeting Approvals
The Board of Equalization reviewed the Property Tax Register for August 6, 2024, and several work session and commission meeting minutes from July were also approved as part of the consent items.
