Davis County Commission Holds Brief Meeting, Unanimously Passes All Items

The Davis County Commission convened for a brief and unexpectedly swift meeting, which began abruptly and concluded quicker than usual. During the meeting, Commissioner Kamalu recognized that September is Constitution Month in the state of Utah and highlighted a few local events celebrating the Constitution, emphasizing the importance of civic education and awareness in the community.

Despite the shortened session, all agenda items were addressed and unanimously approved.

Among the key items on the agenda:

  • West Point City Annexation: The Commission certified the West Point City Annexation Petition.
  • County Road Vacation Petition: The receipt of a petition for the vacation of portions of a county road was acknowledged.
  • Code Blue Response Plan: The Commission approved an order to call a special meeting to consider the Davis County Code Blue Response Plan.
  • Suicide Prevention Funding: An amendment to a contract provided funding for comprehensive suicide prevention for State Fiscal Year 2025.
  • Interlocal Cooperation: A resolution with West Point City was approved, involving a transportation project reimbursement agreement using local option sales tax funds.

  • Temporary Access License: Bountiful City was granted a temporary access license to the Mill Creek Basin.
  • Health and Safety Measures: The Commission approved amendments for a disability health program and a donation of car seats valued at $1,000 from Gold Cross Ambulance.
  • Termination of Contract: The Sheriff’s Office terminated a contract with Roe Family MedPac LTC Pharmacy.

The Commission adopted the previous meeting minutes. Though the meeting was shorter than usual, it addressed and finalized several key items, advancing public safety, health, and economic development in the county. Commissioner Kamalu said September is Constitution month in Utah.
