At the May 2024 Davis County Commission meeting, long-serving county employees were honored for their dedication and commitment. The Employee Service Awards recognized those who have reached significant career milestones, celebrating their contributions to the community.
County Earns Privacy Engagement Recognition

Key Business and Actions
Animal Care Initiatives
Several important measures related to animal care were addressed:
- Donation Received: Nancy Marple’s generous donation to Animal Care services was accepted.
- Veterinary Services Contracts: Extensions and new agreements with FurLife PLLC (Becky Andrle) and Anna Hochstedler were approved to maintain high-quality veterinary services.
- Adoption Agreements: Adoption agreements from March 2024 were reviewed and approved, facilitating the adoption process for pets.
Attorney’s Office
The Commission approved a contract with Ashley Lamb for legal consultation services.
Auditor’s Office
The 2024 delinquent property tax sale was scheduled for May 15, 2024, to address overdue property taxes.
Commissioners’ Office
The abatement register for May 14, 2024, received approval.
Community & Economic Development
A public hearing was held to approve Davis County’s final 2024-2025 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant. The Social Services Block Grant contract with Davis Community Learning Center was renewed to support the Community Schools Program. The sale of a 2009 tax sale parcel was approved, and the related real estate purchase agreement was finalized. An agreement with Sports Facilities Advisory, LLC was made to analyze the Western Sports Park’s business structure. Andersen Asphalt was contracted for trail repairs, and a marketing agreement with Madden Media was approved. Haroon Transportation Inc. was also contracted for the 2024 Great Salt Lake Bird Festival.
Facilities Improvements
The Commission approved a change order with Layton Construction Company, LLC for traffic signal and streetscape improvements at the Western Sports Park. Method Studio, Inc. received an amendment for additional design services.
Golf Course Maintenance
Contracts with Dryject Turf Services were approved for aerification of the putting greens at Davis Park and Valley View Golf Courses.
Health Department Initiatives
Several amendments and certifications were approved, including updates to contracts and increased funding for various health programs and services.
Information Systems
The contract with the State of Utah Dept of Corrections was amended to continue providing telephone services for Adult Probation and Parole.
Public Works Projects
Contracts with Civil Solutions Group Inc. were approved for Section 404 permitting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for South Fork Holmes Creek and Middle Fork Kays Creek.
Sheriff’s Office Agreements
The Commission approved various agreements, including those with the Bureau of Criminal Identification and training contracts for new officers. Additionally, the professional services contract for chiller replacement was ratified.
Board of Equalization
The property tax register for May 14, 2024, was approved.
Consent Items
Minutes from the work sessions on April 22 and April 23, 2024, and the regular commission meeting on April 23, 2024, were approved.
The next Davis County Commission meeting is scheduled for June 2024, where further community issues and administrative matters will be discussed.
